Dragon Lee has successfully challenged for the NXT North American Championship from ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline. The event took place live from the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Saturday, December 9.
Lee was a last-minute replacement opponent for Mysterio following an injury sustained by Wes Lee. With Rey Mysterio to be live in attendance for the match, Dragon Lee made his way from the main roster to be a part of the match.
Lee was successful in his quest, capturing the NXT North American title. This marks Lee’s first championship in the WWE, and he becomes the 21st champion in the title’s history.
Mysterio’s second reign ended at just 67 days. With his first reign being recognized for 73 days, Mysterio has had an accumulated 140 days.
