Eddie Hearn recently signed the IBF Cruiserweight world champion, Australia’s Jai Opetaia, in a co-promotion with Tasman fighters.
Opetaia has been ordered to face BOXXER-promoted Brit Richard Riakporhe next after Poland’s Mateusz Masternak withdrew from the mandatory position.
Hearn has revealed to Boxing Social that he wants to stage Opetaia vs Riakporhe on Wednesday, August 23 in Australia live on DAZN.
The British promoter claims that he has made Riakporhe a strong offer to face Opetaia in Australia. BOXXER offered Opetaia less money to come to the UK than Matchroom is offering Riakporhe to come to Aus, per Hearn.
The split is 65-35 in favour of the Australian and the fight is expected to go to purse bids.
O’Shaquie Foster vs Rocky Hernandez, Felix Cash, Ammo Williams
The WBC has now officially ordered their Super Featherweight world champion O’Shaquie Foster to defend his title against the mandatory challenger Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez.
Eddie Hearn, who promotes Hernandez, wishes to stage the fight on either September 2 or September 9 in Houston, Texas.
Ammo Wiliams could appear on the undercard as his fight with Felix Cash is no longer expected to take place next.
Cash recently left long-time trainer Tony Sims and teamed up with Mark Tibbs, sources tell NoSmokeSport.com

BOXXER look to be planning a Chris Eubank Jr (32-3, 23 KOs) vs Liam Smith (33-3-1, 20 KOs) rematch for Saturday, September 2 at London’s O2 Arena,
Eubank announced via his Twitter on Friday morning that he was taking the Smith fight next, although no deal has actually been completed for the fight.
