Tegan Nox Confirmed Next Challenger For NXT Women’s Championship

Tegan Nox is next for Becky Lynch, granted that ‘The Man’ successfully retains the gold at No Mercy on Saturday, September 30. The September 25 edition of Raw saw ‘The Girl With The Shiniest Wizard’ come out on top against Natalya to earn the next shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.

Tegan Nox Proves Successful For Future NXT Women’s Championship

Nox has been with the WWE since 2017, although her first match with the promotion would only take place in 2018 (due to injury) before she would become a regular fixture on NXT. Nox eventually found herself on the main roster and was drafted to the Raw brand earlier in 2023.

Outside of the WWE, Nox is a multi-time champion and she looks to claim her first piece of WWE gold soon. Backstage at Raw, Lynch made it known that she actually expected Nox to answer her open challenge on the September 18 episode. Instead, Natalya would be the one to serve as Lynch’s first challenger. Having been successful in retaining the championship, Lynch now turns her focus to the No Mercy event on September 30 but she looks forward to giving Nox the next title shot.

Nox asked WWE official Adam Pearce to grant her the next title opportunity against whoever is victorious at No Mercy – be it Lynch or Tiffany Stratton. Natalya was eager to put herself back into title contention, and it was decided that the two would have a bout to decide who would get that spot. ‘The Girl With The Shiniest Wizard’ would defeat Natalya, to lock in that NXT Women’s Championship title shot sometime down the line.

Now, it is just a matter of who will emerge the victor in the NXT Women’s Championship Extreme Rules match at No Mercy. The champion to walk out of that event – Lynch or Stratton – will have their first challenger already waiting for them.
