Tama Tonga Is The New NEVER Openweight Champion
Tama Tonga is once again the NEVER Openweight Champion, following a successful challenge to Shingo Takagi. The match lasted just over 30 minutes and was fast-paced and hard-hitting.
Takagi was only at 69 days with the reign, after he claimed the gold at Fighting Spirit Unleashed. This becomes Tonga’s fourth reign with the NEVER Openweight Championship, making him the 42nd titleholder in the title’s history.
Takagi and Tonga have been in a feud for several months, sharing a few matches. At Wrestle Kingdom 18, it was yet another chapter in their storied history.
