Newly-appointed NJPW President, Hiroshi Tanahashi, won the World Television Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 18.

Hiroshi Tanahashi was recently appointed as the new NJPW President. Still riding that high, ‘The Ace’ now also has the accolade of being the NJPW World Television Champion.
Zack Sabre Jr. was the inaugural champion and held the title for 365 days, with his reign beginning at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, 2023. A year later, Tanahashi has ended Sabre’s run to become the second-ever titleholder.
During his reign, Sabre had 16 successful title defenses before ultimately being unsuccessful in his 17th. Following the victory, Tanahashi addressed the audience in his role as NJPW President.
