Randy Orton Officially A Member Of SmackDown Roster
Randy Orton officially joined the SmackDown roster on the December 1 episode, following a short bidding war between the general managers.
Randy Orton On SmackDown
Randy Orton made his return to the WWE at Survivor Series following an 18-month layoff due to an injury. Upon his return, Orton assisted the team of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn in winning the men’s wargames match.
Following an appearance on the following Raw, Orton made his way to Brooklyn, New York for the December 1 edition of SmackDown. The blue brand’s general manager, Nick Aldis, quickly made it clear that he looked to sign Orton to SmackDown.
With pushback from Raw’s general manager, Adam Pearce, the two GMs engaged in bidding wars for ‘The Viper’. Whilst Pearce promised Orton the chance to face the winner of the Seth Rollins vs. Jey Uso World Heavyweight Championship match-up, Aldis offered Orton the chance to execute revenge on the ones responsible for his injury and subsequent hiatus – The Bloodline.
Orton ultimately signed with SmackDown and, as of December 1, is officially a member of the blue brand’s roster.
