Lyra Valkyria Becomes The New NXT Women’s Champion

Becky Lynch went into NXT Halloween Havoc tonight as NXT Women’s Champion, but she walked out without the gold around her waist. It was a valiant effort, but in the end, Lyra Valkyria stands tall.

Lyra Valkyria Is A Champion

Becky Lynch won the NXT Women’sChampionship from Tiffany Stratton on September 12th. During Lynch’s 43 day reign, she defended it multiple times on live events and five times on TV across NXT and Monday Night RAW against an army of talent such as Indi Hartwell, Natalya, Tiffany Stratton and Tegan Nox. But, on the fifth defense, Becky was challenged on tonight’s NXT Halloween Havoc special by NXT star Lyra Valkyria in the main event. Lyra ended up getting the win and became NXT Women’s Champion for the very first time. In fact, this is her first championship win in the company after being with WWE since 2020, where she started in NXT UK.

Lyra will now have plenty of targets on her back, including possibly from the newest WWE signing, Jade Cargill. Jade was watching the match in a VIP section of the NXT area and made sure to make her presence known, staring down the new and former champion as they embraced following the match. We’ll have to wait and see if Jade Cargill will go after the title. But for now, congratulations to the new champion, Lyra Valkyria.
