Hiroshi Tanahashi Appointed As NJPW President
NJPW announced on December 23 that Hiroshi Tanahashi has recently been appointed as the new President of NJPW.
Hiroshi Tanahashi Is The New NJPW President
NJPW has undergone some management structural changes following a meeting between the board of directors and shareholders. The meeting took place on December 23, and the changes were effective immediately.
Eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi has taken on the role of NJPW President and Representative Director. Tanahashi is currently also one-third of the current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions.
Other personnel change includes TV Asahi Chief of Business Production, Hitoshi Matsumoto, stepping into the role of Director. Also stepping into the same role will be Bushiroad Fight President & CEO, Taro Okada, who will be serving on a part-time basis.
NJPW has announced that there will be a press conference on December 26 concerning the changes made. In addition to that, Tanahashi will address fans directly in his new role as President at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4 at the Tokyo Dome.
