Alexa Grasso Responds To Shevchenko’s “Error” Comments

Aelaxa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko II is set to headline Noche UFC this Saturday for the UFC Flyweight Championship. These two fought back in March at UFC 285, where Grasso pulled off a massive upset to become the Flyweight Champion. Now, they do it again this weekend.

Alexa Grasso Responds to Valentina Shevchenko

Following the first bout, former champion Valentina Shevchenko claims she made an error that caused her to get submitted by Alexa Grasso and lose the belt. Now, during the UFC media junket, current champion Alexa Grasso was asked about the comments and said “It just kind of surprised me because someone with such big experience and competing at this high, high level, we know that there are no accidents. You know, I trained for that moment and you can also see the video that I have before the fight, you know, I was training that exact same position, so, it was something that I trained to win that fight.”

Though Alexa was respectful in her response, It’s clear that she is looking to prove that it wasn’t a fluke win this Saturday. And, to make it even sweeter, it’s in front of a possible home crowd. Though the fight is in Las Vegas, UFC Noche is celebrating Mexican Independence Day and Alexa Grasso is walking in as the only current Mexican champion in the UFC. Alexa Grasso is set to main event Noche UFC this Saturday on ESPN+, kicking off at 7PM ET.
