Mike Tyson Medical Emergency Mid-Flight Raises Concerns

In unfortunate news, a plane carrying Mike Tyson was visited by paramedics after the legendary boxer was taken ill. The Mike Tyson medical emergency occurred on a flight from Miami to LA on Sunday, and may have severe implications for Tyson’s fight against Jake Paul in July.

Mike Tyson is set to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, now 9-1 after a run of recent victories, in a much-anticipated bout on July 20th at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, for an audience of 80,000 people. Paul’s only loss comes at the hands of Britain’s Tommy Fury.

The contest, which will be Netflix’s first foray into live boxing, will consist of eight two-minute rounds. The fighters will use 14oz gloves, instead of the usual 12oz used by heavyweight boxers.

Katie Taylor locks horns with Amanda Serrano for their long-awaited rematch in the co-main event, with former UFC fighter Darren Till landing in a bout against Julio Caesar Chavez Jr elsewhere on the undercard.

Tyson, who will be 58 years old by the time of the bout, has already said he is ‘scared to death’ of the bout, but that ‘adversity and nervousness pretty much catapulted me to success’.

Hall of Fame boxing promoter, Frank Warren, has said, ‘Anyone with an ounce of brains knows that it is ridiculous…’ continuing, ‘Let’s get it right, you can be on a motorway stuck in a traffic jam and you get to the end of it and all it is is people who have stopped to look at a crash and that’s what this is.’
