Conlan (18-2, 9 KOs) was last seen in action in May when he was stopped in five rounds by Mexico’s IBF titleist Luis Alberto Lopez.

Before that, he narrowly fell short in the 2022 fight of the year with Nottingham’s Leigh Wood where he succumbed to a twelfth-round knockout defeat.

The Belfast man is looking for another world title crack but it is also possible that he could land a rematch with Wood should he lose to Josh Warrington on Saturday.

If Wood retains his title, he is expected to pursue a fight with Cardiff’s 130-pound champion Joe Cordina and we could see Conlan matched with Warrington instead in another big domestic clash.

Gill has been out of the ring for almost twelve months after being dropped four times by Kiko Martinez in his 4th-round TKO loss.
