Scotland’s Lee McGregor will face the dangerous Mexican Erik Robles at the Meadowbank Sports Centre this Friday, July 21, live on Channel 5 in the UK.
The vacant IBO world super bantamweight title will be on the line when ‘Lightning’ makes a hero’s return to Edinburgh this Friday.
The 26-year-old raced to British, Commonwealth and European bantamweight glory in only 10 fights.
Promotional and other issues outside of the ring have held him back, but now moving up to 122 pounds, McGregor will hope to add a world title belt to his collection with the backing of Wasserman Boxing.
23-year-old Robles is an unknown quantity on this side of the pond but brings nine knockouts in his 13 victories to date.
The Mexican has bolstered 7 wins since his only career defeat over three years ago at the hands of Carlos Daniel Acosta.
McGregor vs Robles Undercard
The world-ranked Kazakh southpaw Sultan Zaurbek (14-0) faces Spain’s John Carter (15-0-1) in a ten-round super featherweight contest.
Matty Harris (5-0) looks to be the first person to stop the heavily-durable Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko (9-13-1), who extended the sensational Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma the full six-round distance in April.
Featherweight contender Isaac Lowe (22-2-3) warms up against Jonathan Santana (9-5-1) before targeting a big fight later in the year, potentially against Prince Patel.
A second appearance in 2023 for Harlem Eubank (17-0) against the battle-hardened Ishmael Ellis (14-6) also features on the Scotland bill.

The main card begins at 10 pm BST (5 pm ET, 2 pm PT) live on Channel 5 in the UK. Main Event Ring Walks will occur at approximately 10:00 pm BST (5:00 pm ET, 2:00 pm PT).
You can catch all the action worldwide (outside of the UK) live on DAZN from 7 pm BST (2 pm ET, 11 am PT).
The undercard action will be available to watch on the Wasserman Boxing YouTube channel in the UK from 7 pm BST (2 pm ET, 11 am PT).
