Kalle Sauerland Heaps Praise On DAZN: Second To None Broadcaster In The History Of The Sport

Tito Sanchez and Walter Santibanes gave us an absolute thriller in the latest Golden Boy Thursday Night Fight Night. Jake Paul faces Andre August later tonight with Shadasia Green looking to capture super middleweight Gold on the undercard. Tomorrow, Josh Kelly headlines in Sunderland leading into one of the best fights of the year, Jesse Rodriguez-Sunny Edwards in Phoenix.

For all of DAZN’s faults, and there are plenty, it is quite an incredible slate for a boxing broadcaster in a single week but it’s nothing new for the OTT giant, who have delivered a similar quantity of shows on previous weekends throughout the year, producing by far the most boxing out of any network.

And Kalle Sauerland has come out as one of their biggest proponents.

Kalle Sauerland Delighted With DAZN’s Investment In Boxing

“You’ve got to look at what DAZN’s doing in boxing and it’s phenomenal,” Sauerland told Boxing Social

“Look at their December schedule, look at their whole year’s schedule, it’s second to none. When I say second to none I don’t mean just now but in the history of the sport”

DAZN will stage around 14 televised boxing events in December including the blockbuster Dec 23 Saudi Arabia card topped by Anthony Joshua, Edwards-Rodriguez, Haney-Prograis, Garcia-Duarte, Paul-August, and Conlan-Gill

“Talk about HBO and SHO in the States over many years flying the flag but on a global level, the amount of money they’ve put in the sport, the amount of content/fights, it’s unbelievable for our sport, a niche sport, that a big organisation like that has done that.”

“We’re delighted to do all our stuff we’ve done with them. Every fan should be grateful for a platform like that”

Kalle Sauerland stages Misfits Boxing with DAZN in addition to staging most of their professional cards on DAZN internationally.
