According to a leaked event listing on the official Monte Carlo SBM (Société des Bains de Mer) website, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing will return to Monaco on Saturday, November 4.
This marks the first card Matchroom have staged in that territory since Nov 2019 since events in Monaco have not returned post-pandemic.
These events usually take place in a casino in front of around 500 people as the gate is substituted for a large hosting fee.
Undefeated Russian Welterweights Alexander Besputin and Radzhab Butaev battled in a thrilling twelve-round clash in the main event of their last Monte Carlo show.
This leaked programme could obviously be wrong but it is worth noting that the date for the event is in line with rumours circulating about a Monaco show as is the return of Joe Cordina.
Listed Fights Including The Return Of Joe Cordina
Per the card shown on the website, Cordina will make the first defence of his IBF Super Featherweight title against America’s Edward Vasquez (15-1). Vasquez’s sole defeat is a controversial split-decision loss to Raymond Ford in 2022.
Matchroom’s IBF Light Flyweight champion Sivenathi Nontshinga will reportedly defend his championship with Adrian Curiel, from Mexico, in the opposite corner.
Undefeated French Welterweight Souleymane Cissokho and Mexico’s Isaias Lucero (16-1) meet over ten rounds.
Ramla Ali and Julissa Guzman II rematch after their encounter in June where Ali was stopped in her first career defeat at the hands of the heavy-handed Mexican.
