The WBC/WBO champion Naoya Inoue clashes with WBA/IBF titleist Marlon Tapales in a four-belt unification fight to establish the undisputed super bantamweight king.

Inoue (25-0, 22 KOs), widely regarded as P4P #2 in world boxing, has already held the undisputed title at the weight below and a win for him on Tuesday, December 26 sees him join Terence Crawford in becoming the second two-weight undisputed champion in the four-belt era of men’s boxing – Oleksandr Usyk will try and become the third on Feb 17 in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia.

Japan’s Inoue returns to the Ariake Arena in Tokyo where he scored a stunning 8th-round knockout of Stephen Fulton to claim the unified title. Many experts were picking Fulton to give Inoue a hard night’s work, if not beat him, but the ‘Monster’ showed his class with a completely dominant performance just four days before Crawford delivered an equally spectacular win over Errol Spence in Las Vegas.

Tapales has in many ways landed the Golden Ticket as a fight with Inoue comes with huge financial rewards. The Filipino edged a razor-tight win over a stale Murodjon Akhmadaliev to win his two belts in April. The majority are picking Inoue to make quick work of Tapales but we are just days removed from a major upset and Tapales will be hoping to deliver a second on Boxing Day.
