No belts, no P4P rankings, just two of boxing’s young, undefeated stars putting it all on the line in their 136-pound catchweight clash. One of the most anticipated fights of recent times, Tank vs Garcia has really captured the imagination of not only the hardcore boxing fan but the general sports fan alike.

In his most recent bout in January, Davis stopped Hector Luis Garcia after eight rounds when Garcia complained he could not see. A devastating puncher, Tank has all but two of his wins inside the distance and has seen the power carry as he has moved up the weight classes.

Garcia forged his Jan tune-up after two successful comeback fights in 2022 as he sat out the majority of 2021. 12 frustrating rounds with the very negative Emmanuel Tagoe in April were followed by a mightily-impressive display over Javier Fortuna which led to a KO-6, with several of the punches too quick for even the cameras to capture in real-time.

Davis vs Garcia could represent a positive shift in boxing as two young stars, marketable in their own right, are risking it all against each other. A cross-promotional bout between PBC and Golden Boy plus rival networks DAZN/SHO working together to put on the best and biggest matchups in the sport.

In the co-feature, Cuba’s David Morrell Jr (8-0, 7 KOs), who is the mandatory challenger for Canelo Alvarez, defends his WBA Super Middleweight title against Olympic bronze medalist, Brazil’s Yamaguchi Falcao (24-1-1, 10 KO).

Morrell was supposed to face Sena Agbeko but the Ghanian “was forced to withdraw after not being licensed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.”

Falcao’s sole defeat is at the hands of Christopher Pearson in 2019, whilst he has a majority draw with D’Mitrius Ballard. Falcao doesn’t have any notable wins to his resume but does possess the amateur pedigree, not that Morrell himself, a 130-2 amateur, doesn’t.

Morrell won the interim championship against Lennox Allen in just his third bout and was upgraded soon after. The 25-year-old’s best win came last time out with a brutal 12th-round KO over Kazakh Aidos Yerbossynuly.

American gatekeeper Gabriel Rosado (26-16-1, 15 KOs) and Uzbek prospect Bektemir Melikuziev (11-1, 9 KOs) rematch over ten rounds for the WBA Intercontinental Super Middleweight title.

The pair met in June 2021 when Rosado scored a stunning upset over the then-unbeaten hot prospect Melikuziev the bookmaker’s favorite according to Vegas-Odds.com. Rosado countered with an overhand right to brutally KO the Uzbek face first flat on the canvas in the Knockout of the Year.

Melikuziev, who was winning easily before he was stopped, has picked up 4 consecutive wins since the loss whilst Rosado has lost his last three bouts. Melikuiev must win on April 22 to keep his title hopes alive.

In the card opener. 19-year-old Elijah Garcia (14-0, 12 KO) faces Mexican Kevin Salgado (15-1-1, 10 KO) over ten rounds at middleweight.

Garcia impressively stopped Amilcar Vidal in four rounds in March and returns swiftly back to action. Salgado’s sole defeat came in his penultimate fight, a convincing points loss to super welterweight prospect Joey Spencer.
