Unbeaten domestic pair Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez will meet in their WBA final eliminator on Saturday, February 3 at Wembley’s OVO Arena, live on Sky Sports.
Buatsi and Azeez were supposed to clash last October but a back injury suffered by Azeez in his final training session forced the postponement of their all-British showdown.
The top 15 light heavyweights now have a rescheduled date for their eagerly-anticipated clash although it will come with more frustration for Buatsi who had hoped to fight before the end of 2023 after once again recording just one outing in the calendar year.
A clash between Buatsi and domestic rival Anthony Yarde has been built up for years and is seen as almost inevitable.
With Dmitry Bivol defending his title against Lyndon Arthur on Saturday and then pursuing an undisputed showdown with Artur Beterbiev, the winner of Buasti-Azeez may well look to make a Yarde fight next.

Adam Azim will take the co-feature slot
The undefeated 140-pound prospect will put his European title up for grabs against the Zambian-native Enock Poulsen (14-0, 5 KOs).
Almost 200,000 viewers in the UK watched 21-year-old Azim (10-0, 7 KOs) pick up the crown with a one-sided, tenth-round beatdown of France’s Franck Petitjean in November.
Azim dropped the Frenchman in rounds five and ten and the corner threw in the towel after the second knockdown.
Denmark-based Poulsen also holds a win over Petitjean in 2022, albeit that bout was much more evenly contested.
Caroline Dubois (8-0, 5 KOs) will put her IBO championship on the line against the USA’s Miranda Reyes (7-1-1, 3 KOs).
Reyes dropped a six-round decision to 1-4 Jaica Pavilus in her only loss to date and has a draw with 1-3 Susany Perez Santamaria. The 22-year-old from Texas has never been scheduled for more than six rounds.
Dubois picked up the IBO strap with a decision over Mexico’s Magali Rodriguez. The Brit is expected to be mandated to fight Brazilian Olympic star Beatriz Ferreira for the IBF world title next in what would be a 50-50 contest.
Olympic silver medallist Ben Whittaker (5-0, 4 KOs) is back in another eight-rounder against journeyman Khalid Graidia (10-13-5, 2 KOs).
41-year-old Graidia was stopped by Zach Parker in seven rounds last time out and has also recorded losses to Karol Itauma, Ezra Taylor and Dan Azeez in his last five fights.
Rising Bantamweight star Francesca Hennessy and heavyweight hope Jeamie TKV are also confirmed for action in the capital.
Hennessy, who turned professional last year, goes in search of her third pro victory against Laura Belen Valdebenito (5-5).
Whilst TKV looks to get back to winning ways having suffered his first career defeat to Igor Macedo in September 2023. However, Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko (10-14) will look to upset another Heavyweight prospect after his stunning stoppage of Matty Harris last July.
