Adam Azim’s Next Fight: Rising Star Will Defend European Title On Feb 3 Buatsi vs Azeez Undercard

  • Adam Azim Won The European Title By Stoppage In November
  • The Rising Star Will Defend The Strap On February 3 In London
  • Undefeated Enock Poulsen Will Be The Man In The Opposite Corner

Adam Azim’s Next Fight date is now set.

The undefeated 140-pound prospect will put his European title up for grabs against the Zambian-native Enock Poulsen (14-0, 5 KOs) on the February 3 Joshua Buatsi-Dan Azeez undercard at Wembley’s OVO Arena, live on Sky Sports.

Almost 200,000 viewers in the UK watched 21-year-old Azim (10-0, 7 KOs) pick up the crown with a one-sided. tenth-round beatdown of France’s Franck Petitjean in November.

Azim dropped the Frenchman in rounds five and ten and the corner threw in the towel after the second knockdown.

Denmark-based Poulsen also holds a win over Petitjean in 2022, albeit that bout was much more evenly contested.

Why Is Poulsen Adam Azim’s Next Fight?

The 31-year-old stepped aside so Azim could fight for the belt in November in return for a shot at the winner.

Should Azim beat Poulsen on Feb 3, he will be ordered to face rival Dalton Smith at some point in 2024, a fight that has been talked about for over a year – but fans probably won’t get that one anytime soon.

The Brit is the WBA’s #9 ranked fighter and will be in line for a top 5 ranking by the end of next year as several ordered fights are fulfilled.

The first of those is O’Hara Davies-Ismael Barroso for the Interim world title this Saturday in Texas with the winner expected to face Rolly Romero for the full strap and then defend against Kenneth Sims Jr but Golden Boy will hope to land Ryan Garcia the title shot first in 2024.
