Abdullah Mason impressed the boxing world with a devastating KO on Thursday’s Teofimo Lopez-Jamaine Ortiz undercard.

The 19-year-old finished unbeaten Benjamin Gurment (8-0) in the second round with an overhand left that put Gurment down heavily on the canvas, forcing the referee to wave off the fight immediately.

Mason has been described by boxing fans and pundits as a blue-chip prospect with the Ohio talent tipped to win titles at 135 pounds and above.

Lightweight is stacked with talent, including Andy Cruz, Floyd Schofield and Keyshawn Davies.

Ryan Garcia Reacts To Abdullah Mason KO

One of boxing’s biggest stars, Ryan Garcia, was impressed by Mason’s KO.

The former WBC Interim champion, who is in negotiations to face Devin Haney on April 20 in Las Vegas live on DAZN PPV, quote tweeted Top Rank posting the KO with, “I have to admit this kid is next”

Mason has now scored ten knockouts in his twelve wins which have come in just over two years. This was his first eight-rounder after four fights scheduled for four rounds and seven fights scheduled for six rounds.
