“7-Figure Numbers”, DAZN Executive Opens Up On The Success Of Big Fights For The Platform

Sports streaming service DAZN has been involved in broadcasting some of the major fights this year in boxing.

Joshua-Ngannou, Haney-Garcia, Canelo-Munguia, Fury Usyk, Taylor Catterall 2 and now the 5 vs 5 – there doesn’t seem to be a major event that the broadcaster isn’t involved with and this has been very successful for the company financially according to one of their representatives.

Alfie Sharman On The Success Of Big Fights For DAZN

The vice president of marketing for DAZN, Alfie Sharman, was asked by iFL TV to go into further detail about comments made by Eddie Hearn regarding the success of major fights for DAZN. Hearn said the numbers on DAZN off the back of Fury vs Usyk were ‘fantastic’.

Sharman: “They were outstanding. I can’t disclose actual numbers but we’re talking 7-figure numbers over the month period which is outstanding for us.”

“This week, as an example, which is part of our subscription. If we use these 3 weeks as an example (Haney-Garcia, Canelo-Munguia, Fury-Usyk), globally the numbers that we bought in who can then view this weekend as part of their subscription is part of our strategy in delivering value.”

Sharman described how DAZN strategically placed Taylor-Catterall 2 after major events on the platform which were PPV as purchasers would receive a free month’s subscription allowing them to watch Taylor Catterall for free after buying Fury Usyk or Canelo-Munguia on the platform.
