Prograis vs Haney Set For Dec 9 In San Francisco
- Prograis vs Haney Will Be Announced At A Press Conference This Week
- The WBC Super Lightweight Title Fight Was Originally Planned For Oct 28
- After Multiple Date Changes, Dec 9 Is The Date And San Francisco Is The Location
DEC 9 is the date for Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney.
The clash between the WBC Super Lightweight champion and the Undisputed 135-pound king was originally targeted for October 28 in Las Vegas.
However, contracts were not finalized in time and Matchroom Boxing lost the planned site for the bout affecting the economics of the deal – that is according to Dan Rafael.

Prograis’ trainer, Bobby Benson then revealed that November 11 was the new target but that hasn’t materialised either. Dec 2 or 9 were in-play until recently and now all parties have settled on Dec 9.
The fight will take place in the San Francisco Bay Area – as first reported by ThaBoxingVoice and confirmed by Haney via Twitter.
Prograis vs Haney Fight Breakdown
Prograis signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom fresh off his dominant stoppage win over Jose Zepeda to claim the WBC strap.
A far-from-impressive debut for the company saw him scrape to a split decision win over Danielito Zorrilla back in June.
Prograis has a three-fight deal with Matchroom and a mandatory challenger set in Spain’s dangerman Sandor Martin who many felt beat Teofimo Lopez in their bout late last year.
Haney claimed and defended the undisputed championship at the weight below with back-to-back near-shutout decision wins over George Kambosos.
The American debuted on ESPN PPV in May and claimed a controversial win over Vasyl Lomachenko.
‘The Dream’ will move up a weight class to challenge Regis Prograis – in what could be his second PPV headliner – as a favourite but this is a tremendous matchup and it would come of little surprise if the 24-year-old came off second-best.
