CONFIRMED: Taylor-Cameron Rematch Headlines DAZN Nov 25 Show
- Chantelle Cameron Beat Katie Taylor By Majority Decision In May In A Big Upset
- Irish Superstar Taylor Has Since Activated Her Contractual Rematch Clause
- The Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron Rematch Has Been Confirmed For Nov 25
Chantelle Cameron (18-0, 8 KOs) retained her undisputed super lightweight championship for the first time when she upset the P4P #1 and female boxing’s biggest star, Katie Taylor (22-0, 6 KOs) in Taylor’s Ireland homecoming this May.
Cameron claimed a 95-95, 96-94, 96-94 majority decision win over Taylor. The Irishwoman has since activated her contractual rematch clause.
The pair will run it back when they headline a DAZN fight card on Saturday, November 25 at the 9,000-capacity 3 Arena In Dublin, Ireland,
The first fight between Taylor and Cameron grossed over $3m at the gate at the 3 Arena, making it one of the largest gates in British/Irish boxing this year, similar to some huge PPV American fights such as Benavidez-Plant and Haney-Lomachenko.
Cameron wanted to stage the rematch at neutral territory for Taylor’s belts rather than put her own titles on the line and come back to hostile territory in Dublin,
However, terms for the rematch were contracted and the fight generates far more money in Ireland than anywhere else in the world so back to Ireland they will go.
Amanda Serrano confirmed on social media in the last few days that her much-anticipated second fight with Ireland’s Taylor will also happen at some point, meaning another huge fight for the Bray women; win or lose on Nov 25.
