SPOTLIGHT ON CALLUM SIMPSON- Barnsley’s rising Super Middleweight!

Callum Simpson takes to the ring on the Lawrence Okolie vs David Light undercard at the AO Arena in Manchester. It is Simpsons first fight since signing his long term promotional contract with Boxxer in February.

26-year-old Simpson hails from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and has already making a name for himself in the sport, winning all ten of his professional fights, 8 of which by early knock-out. Simpson has already claimed the Central Area title, as he eyes more domestic straps.

Simpson first stepped into a boxing club at the age of nine, under the tutelage of Trevor Schofield and John Sagar at Barnsley Star. From there, he went on to win numerous titles as an amateur, showcasing his talent and potential to the boxing community. After turning professional in 2019, Simpson began training at Dicky’s Gym in Batley, the former home of Leeds Warrior and former IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington.

In just his second professional fight, Simpson was on the undercard of Warrington’s world title defence against Frenchman Sofiane Takoucht in October 2019 at the Leeds Arena.

Simpson’s impressive record has made him a rising star in the boxing world, and his aggressive fighting style and knockout power have garnered attention from fans and pundits alike. His ability to finish fights quickly has had experts tipping him for big things.

Callum Simpson was last out in October last year with a 2nd round knockout of Ben Ridings to capture the Central Area British Super Middleweight title. This obviously caught the eye of BOXXER promotor Ben Shalom who snapped him up and described him as one of Britain’s hottest prospects.

Simpson takes on Portugal’s Celso Neves live tomorrow night on Sky Sports as he continues his rise up the British ladder.
