KSI vs Amir Khan Potentially Next in August, Khan Responds to Rumours
In a recent tweet by rival Jake Paul, it has been revealed that KSI vs Amir Khan may be the next fight for the British YouTuber, who has already stated he has a fight lined up in August.
KSI is coming off a decision loss to boxer and influencer, Tommy Fury. the first of his career so far. KSI notably fought Logan Paul twice, at what was the start of the influencer boxing scene. He has since set up Misfits boxing, which has hosted a variety of shows such as the most recent Elle Brooke vs Paige VanZant bout, with KSI headlining four of these events himself, even fighting two opponents in one night on his return to boxing after the Paul bouts years prior.
There has been much back and forth between KSI and his rival Jake Paul about setting up a fight, especially with Paul’s next opponent, Mike Tyson, having to pull out on medical grounds. In some of this back and forth, KSI confirmed he has a fight lined up already for August this year.
KSI vs Amir Khan?
On June 1st, Paul tweeted the following:
This tease of KSI vs Amir Khan led to Khan himself responding with multiple tweets,
Other tweets Khan posted include, ‘The KING is back, News coming soon…’, ‘EASY money’ and ‘Be cautious about what you desire @KSI @JakePaul’.
Amir Khan, now 37 years old, boasts a record of 34-6, with his most recent loss coming by way of stoppage at the hands of his rival, Kell Brook, following a three-year layoff from the sport. This would be a significant step up for KSI, who is now 5-1-1 across all bouts.
Khan has been in the ring with some big names, handing defeats to the likes of Marcos Maidana, Marco Antonio Barrera, Zab Judah, Devon Alexander, Luis Collazo, and Chris Algieri to name a few, as well as daring to be great against Pound for Pound superstars Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
KSI, on the other hand, has fought only three technically professional boxers, the first being a young journeyman who at the time had a record of 2-7, and the other two being Joe Fournier, who most notably fought in an exhibition bout against friend David Haye, which ended in a No Contest after Fournier was stopped with an illegal elbow, and Tommy Fury, who defeated KSI.
KSI vs Amir Khan seems risky for the YouTuber, as despite Khan’s inactivity in the past few years he is still only 37 years old, with KSI himself being 30.
It was previously speculated that Conor McGregor might be a potential opponent for the Brit, though this has not materialised.
KSI vs Amir Khan is still currently unconfirmed, though social media antics from both parties make it seem like a very possible next bout for the pair.
