Matchroom Boxing announced in August that Dillian Whyte had returned adverse analytical findings as part of a random anti-doping protocol by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
His DAZN PPV fight with Anthony Joshua at London’s O2 Arena was cancelled, as a result, just seven days out.
NoSmokeSport.com revealed a few weeks later that Whyte returned an adverse finding for an experimental drug ‘Molidustat’.
Molidustat is a drug which can increase the endogenous production of erythropoietin (EPO).
However, Sky Sports revealed that Whyte was cleared to return by the Texas Department of Licencing and Regulation. The British Heavyweight was found to have been the victim of contamination of a supplement following an investigation.
Dillian Whyte RESULT: Body Snatcher Stops Hammer
Whyte returned tonight (Sunday, March 17) at TF Royal Hotel in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland on a non-tv show. Here is the full Whyte vs Hammer result breakdown.
Whyte started the fight well, working his jab on the Romanian in the early stages of this contest and targeting his power shots towards the body.
The Brit connected with a backhand in round two and was attempting power shots at Hammer in the second and third, but none of them landed cleanly.
The ‘Body Snatcher’ went back to the body in the second half of the third round, particularly the left hook but it was blocked by Hammer.
Whyte was winning all three rounds in a quiet fight and the Christian Hammer corner stopped the contest in between the third and fourth rounds as Hammer sustained a shoulder injury!
Dillian Whyte TKO-3
