Rocky Hernandez To Feature On Matchroom Mexico Fight Card On May 11

Rocky Hernandez To Feature On Matchroom Mexico Fight Card On May 11

Matchroom Boxing’s Mexico cards have delivered time after time with competitive and entertaining fights and Eddie Hearn’s company will return to the scene of its best shows on Saturday, May 11.

Rocky Hernandez, coming off a final-round knockout loss for the WBC super featherweight title at the hands of O’Shaquie Foster, will feature on the DAZN show.

Hernandez (34-2, 31 KOs) takes on a fellow Mexican super featherweight contender, Rene Tellez Giron (19-3, 12 KOs).

Giron has wins over Aram Faniian, and Carlos Balderas and he beat George Acosta last time out on the Teofimo Lopez-Jamaine Ortiz undercard.

Eduardo Hernandez, known for his devastating punching power, lacks the big wins on his record and should he rebound with a victory on May 11, could look towards fights with other 130-pounders signed to Matchroom, which includes Joe Cordina, Sugar Nunez, and Mauricio Lara.

Erika Cruz Could Return On Same Show Rocky Hernandez vs Rene Tellez Giron

WBA super bantamweight champion Erika Cruz (17-2, 3 KOs) could feature on the undercard. Although a unification fight with WBC champion Yamileth Mercado (22-3, 5 KOs) is her preferred fight, it is more than likely that Cruz will be ordered to take on her mandatory, Argentina’s Nazarena Romero (13-0-1, 7 KOs).
