History Behind Taylor vs Catterall Rematch
Catterall went into the first contest as a big underdog, given little chance by most fans and even though Taylor’s performance was subpar, there was no doubt that Catterall stepped up many levels that night and proved himself to be in the elite mix at 140.
Most felt that Catterall had done enough to dethrone Taylor of his undisputed championship, but a heavily criticised split decision went in the favour of the Scotsman.
2 years on and with another defeat for Taylor, and two wins for Catterall, points decisions over Foley and Linares respectively; the pair will finally run it back.
