Former champion Shavkat Rakhimov (17-1-1, 14 KOs) battles Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez (26-1, 26 KOs) in a final eliminator for Joe Cordina’s IBF super featherweight title.
Rakhimov hasn’t fought since a split decision loss to Cordina in April which won NoSmokeSport’s fight of the year. In a brutal war, Rakhimov was dropped early but pushed Cordina to the limit at the sold-out arena in Cardiff.
Nunez has boxed on two Matchroom shows in Mexico including a KO of the Year contender of Jesus Martin Ceyca in March and a second-round stoppage win over Oscar Escandon in October.
