- Jonas vs Mayer Undercard: British Super Middleweight Title Fight Set
Two-weight world champion Natasha Jonas will defend her IBF World Welterweight Title against former unified world champion Mikaela Mayer on Saturday, January 20th at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.
The fight will stream live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and on ESPN + stateside as the event is a BOXXER-Top Rank co-promotion.
Jonas (14-2-1, 9 KOs) will be making a first defence of the IBF crown she claimed with a one-sided stoppage win over Canadian Kandi Wyatt earlier this year.
Mayer (19-1, 5 KOs) lost to Alycia Baumgardner in her UK debut last year but has gone on to record two easy wins since at 135 and 140 and now moves up again to 147. Jonas is her first significant bout upwards from 130.
Jonas vs Mayer Undercard
Newly crowned British and Commonwealth Champion Jack Cullen also returns to action in Liverpool defending his belts against former foe Zak Chelli
Cullen (22-4-1, 10 KOs) scored a memorable third-round TKO win over Mark Heffron in September to claim the British and Commonwealth titles.
Chelli (14-2-1, 7 KOs), who was supposed to face Heffron for the strap, lost to late-notice opponent Mark Jeffers in his last BOXXER appearance in July.
‘Little Leaver’s Meat Cleaver’ will now square off against the former English Champion in a repeat of their all-action 2020 contest that ended in a draw.
2020 Olympian Karriss Artingstall (5-0) faces Lila dos Santos Furtado (9-1) over eight rounds at Featherweight.
Brazil’s Furtado had a competitive fight with Britain’s Raven Chapman in August and will be looking to give Artingstall her toughest test yet.
Undefeated Mark Jeffers (16-0, 4 KOs) puts his English championship up for grabs against the twice-beaten Germaine Brown (13-2, 4 KOs).
Jeffers claimed the English and Commonwealth Silver Titles with points win over Zak Chelli after accepting a short notice fight last year. The undefeated Chorley boxer makes his first defence against Brown, who will be aiming to recapture the English Title he held in 2022.
Former IBO World Cruiserweight Champion Jack Massey, who took Joseph Parker the distance in a ten-round heavyweight contest in Manchester last year, returns to the ring at the 200lbs limit as he looks to start the New Year with a victory in Liverpool.
Massey will take on Steve Eloundou Ntere (8-1) over six rounds.
19-year-old Flyweight Mikie Tallon (3-0) meets Adam Yahaya (23-11) over six rounds as Ste Clarke makes his pro debut against Vasif Mamedov (3-46-5).
Aaron McKenna (17-0, 8 KOs) was supposed to face Linus Udofia but Udofia unfortunately withdrew from the contest on the week of the fight. McKenna remains on the card against Mickey Ellison (14-6, 5 KOs) over eight rounds. Lancashire’s Ellison is coming off back-to-back defeats, a decision loss to Lerrone Richards and a stoppage at the hands of Radivoje Kalajdzic.
The Irishmen, who won a competitive decision over Uisma Lima at the York Hall in June, was in negotiations to face Liam Williams but the fight didn’t materialise.
