Will Ospreay’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling is set to expire in early 2024 and ‘The Aerial Assassin’ is already looking towards the future with several options on deck.
Will Ospreay To Be A Free Agent In 2024
Will Ospreay is one of the most recognizable names in all of pro wrestling and many agree that he is one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. Ospreay has been a mainstay in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for several years but, in February 2024, he is set to become a free agent.
Ospreay is currently over 121 days into his second reign as the IWGP US Heavyweight Champion. Over the years, Ospreay has also made his name a global one appearing in major promotions such as AEW, ROH, and IMPACT Wrestling.
Recently competing at IMPACT Wrestling’s Bound For Glory event, Ospreay put on a widely acclaimed match against Speedball Mike Bailey. Following that, Ospreay has been opening up about his future plans, as his NJPW contract comes to in early 2024.
Ospreay has spoken on the potential of signing to any of the promotions that he already has developed working relationships with, and he also explored the possibility of joining the WWE. Speaking to Metro, ‘The Aerial Assassin’ admitted to being open to a move to the US and, whilst speaking on signing with the WWE, he said “It’s on the table, that’s all I can really say.’ He added, “That means I am open to all options going forward.”
Although WWE appears to be where Ospreay might land, other promotions could still be in the running to sign the Brit. As Ospreay becomes a free agent in early 2024, it can be expected that various promotions will make a play to get ‘The Aerial Assassin’ as a permanent fixture on their roster, thus making Ospreay wrestling’s next hottest free agent.
