‘Timeless’ Toni Storm challenged Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship at Full Gear on Saturday, November 18. Shida’s run with the championship lasted only 39 days, thus becoming the second shortest reign in the title’s history.
By winning the championship, Storm becomes only the second wrestler to hold the title three times in her career. The only other person to achieve this was Shida, who gained the title for a history-making third time in October 2023.
The Full Gear match between the pair was unofficially labeled as Storm’s “Hollywood Homecoming.” Following her victory, Storm was joined in the ring by Mariah May, who brought flowers for the newly crowned champion.
