Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo were set to defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against three other teams at No Mercy. Namely, the teams were The Creed Brothers, OTM, and Los Lotharios. This fatal four-way tag team match-up promised to be an exciting display of the tag team division.
The Family won the NXT Tag Team Championships at The Great American Bash in late July. Over 60 days into their reign, the pair would make their first title defense at No Mercy, and they would it in a major way.
The tag team division is a highly contentious one, and The Family looked to prove themselves in a major way at No Mercy. By putting the gold on the line in a fatal four-way, they would defend their titles against the best that the division has to offer all at once. The Family looked to assert dominance over the division in one sweep, and they succeeded in doing so.
Their reign will continue as they attempt to stay at the helm of the NXT tag team division.
