The February 2 edition of SmackDown was a stacked one, and it saw some new names added to the blue brand’s roster. Very early on, some major signings for the brand were confirmed.
Naomi made her much-anticipated return to the WWE at the Royal Rumble as entrant number two. She managed to get two eliminations and was in the match for 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 18 seconds, being the second-longest stay in the match.
Tiffany Stratton is the former NXT Women’s Champion and she entered the Royal Rumble as entrant number 29. She was eliminated alongside Bianca Belair by the ultimate winner, Bayley.
In a backstage segment, Naomi was seen celebrating with Belair, Shotzi, and Michin with a signed SmackDown contract in hand. Stratton soon joined the celebrations with an agenda of her own, and this resulted in her first main roster match-up against Michin.
