LA Knight Makes Return On SmackDown To Assist John Cena

LA Knight made a return on the September 29 edition of SmackDown to rescue John Cena from The Bloodline. Knight and Cena will team up to go up against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at WWE Fastlane 2023 on October 7.

LA Knight Will Be John Cena’s Tag Team Partner At WWE Fastlane 2023

John Cena has taken issue with the way The Bloodline has been handling themselves and looked to settle it in the ring. Initially, Cena was set to partner up with AJ Styles to take on Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Fastlane but, following a vicious attack by The Bloodline, Styles was left unable to compete. This left Cena in a handicap situation unless someone could agree to be his partner.

It was reported during the September 22 SmackDown that LA Knight was asked to leave the venue due to a medical issue. During the week, this match began being pushed as a handicap match and, on the September 29 edition of SmackDown, Uso and Sikoa made it their mission to beat down any potential tag team partners for Cena.

Cena came out to address the audience about what his fate at Fastlane might be before being interrupted by The Bloodline. Uso and Sikoa attacked Cena but, before they could do further damage, LA Knight made his return. After assisting Cena with diffusing the situation with The Bloodline, Knight signed the dotted line to be Cena’s partner at Fastlane.

The two could have a segment on the SmackDown go-home show prior to Fastlane, as they strategize on a way to make their newly formed alliance work.

WWE Fastlane 2023 takes place on Saturday, October 7.
