Cody Rhodes Announces Return Of Two NXT Tournaments
The October 10 edition of NXT was slated to be the biggest night in all of NXT history. Cody Rhodes kicked off the action but, instead of just one announcement, ‘The American Nightmare’ had a few announcements to make.
Rhodes first announced the return of the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament, which can be expected to commence following the completion of the women’s tournament. A product of the 2021 NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament is the former NXT Champion, Carmelo Hayes.
In addition to that, Rhodes confirmed the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, which has become a regular offering of the NXT since 2015. In recent years, the tournament would reach its conclusion earlier in the year but, following radio silence in the 2023 year, it has been confirmed to still be in plans.
Rhodes also confirmed that he would be the special guest general manager for the October 10 NXT. At time of writing, the exact start dates for these tournaments are yet to be confirmed, and Rhodes’ direct involvement is unknown to extend beyond simply the announcements.
