CM Punk Confirms Injury
CM Punk made his return to the WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series but his first televised match took place at the Royal Rumble PLE. Punk was entrant number 27 in the men’s Royal Rumble and he found himself in the final two.
Punk would ultimately be eliminated by Cody Rhodes, who won the entire match. Following the match, there started being reports that Punk had sustained an injury that could see him miss WrestleMania.
On the January 29 edition of Raw, Punk opened up the show with a sling on his arm. Punk would confirm that he suffered a torn right triceps and, although he had hoped to be able to work the WrestleMania season through the pain, it simply was not going to happen.
Drew McIntyre took to the ring to address Punk, saying that he had “prayed for [the injury] and it happened,” before attacking the injured Punk. PWInsider reports that “post-surgery, CM Punk would likely need in the area of 4-6 months of recovery and physical therapy.”
