Becky Lynch Defeats Tiffany Stratton In Extreme Rules Match To Retain NXT Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton’s rivalry has been proof of how quickly tension can intensify when championships are involved. Lynch became the NXT Women’s Champion at Stratton’s expense, and the former champion took issue with that.
Stratton cashed in her rematch clause in an attempt to regain the gold at No Mercy but, following a vicious attack assisted by a steel chair, the champion decided to make their match-up in Bakersfield an extreme rules match.
Prior to the No Mercy event beginning, Shawn Michaels made a post on his X account that the match would serve as the main event of the evening. Both Lynch and Stratton arrived at the venue nice and early, and the champion could even be seen picking up some weapons of carnage backstage. When it was time for the action to get underway, the two could not even wait until the introductions.
Lynch and Stratton began brawling on the outside before alternating between the ring and the surrounding areas. The weapons were involved in this bout right from the start and, at several points in the match-up, a new aid would be added into the mix. Lynch and Stratton pushed each other to the limit but, at the end of it all, ‘The Man’ would be the one to come out on top and remain the champion.
Lynch will not have much time to rest though as number one contender, Tegan Nox, awaits her title opportunity.
