Adam Cole Out Of WrestleDream With Ankle Injury

Adam Cole, who is one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, revealed on the September 27 edition of AEW Dynamite that he has an ankle injury. As a result of that injury, he will not be in action at WrestleDream this weekend.

Adam Cole Requires Surgery For Ankle But Hopes To Be Back Soon

Cole and Maxwell Jacob Friedman made their way to the ring on Dynamite to address Cole’s injury status. Cole announced that he shattered his ankle in three places and tore some ligaments during last week’s Grand Slam edition of Dynamite. The injury took place as Cole was running out to help MJF during his AEW World Championship match against Samoa Joe.

The injury is quite serious, even requiring Cole to wear a cast and walk with the aid of crutches. As a result of the injury, Cole needs to have surgery, and this means he is unable to wrestle. At present, it is unclear just how long Cole will be out of action but he will not be competing at WrestleDream on Sunday, October 1. Cole has vowed to make a return as soon as he can.

Cole would then gear up to say he and MJF would be relinquishing the titles but MJF had a different plan altogether. Instead of relinquishing the titles, MJF made it clear that he would defend their gold in a handicap match against The Righteous, and will be successful in keeping the gold until Cole makes his return.
