UFC 296: Paddy Pimblett vs. Tony Ferguson Announced
Following this week’s announcement that Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington will headline UFC 296 on December16th in Las Vegas, Dana White himself took to social media to announce more fights for the card.
UFC 296: Paddy Pimblett vs Tony Ferguson
Paddy Pimblett is back from injury and will take on Tony Ferguson at the Pay-Per-View event. This fight will be a year and a week since Paddy last fought in UFC. He picked up a controversial decision win over Jared Gordon at UFC 282 in December of last year. During the fight, Paddy was injured and has been on the shelf for a long time. Fans have been wondering when he could be back, and now we know.
On the other side of the octagon is Tony Ferguson. El Cucuy has was on a 12 fight win streak from 2013 to 2019. But, in 2020, Tony took a loss to Justin Gathje that sent him down a path of now being on a six fight losing streak, with the most recent loss being back in July when he was submitted by Bobby Green at UFC 291. Many fans wondered if Tony would retire following that loss, but he did not. Now, he will try to get back into the win column this December, but standing in his way is Paddy The Baddy, who’s 3-0 in the UFC. Could this be the end for Tony, or will he stop the hype train? Tickets for UFC 296 go on sale October 20th.
