Jon Jones Out Of UFC 295, Interim Title Fight Added To Card

News from UFC President Dana White just broke that last night, Jon Jones was injured in training. He tore his pectoral muscle off the bone and it will require surgery that leaves him out for at least eight months. Now, a new main event and a interim Heavyweight Title fight has been set for UFC 295.

UFC 295 Changes Made

Jon Jones was set to defend his UFC Heavyweight Championship against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 next month. Now, after injury, that bout is completely off. It was announced that the co-main event for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship between Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka has been bumped up the the main event. Plus, a new co-main event has been announced as Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich battle for the interim Heavyweight Championship.

This leaves the question on whether or not Stipe will still get a championship shot when Jon Jones is recovered, or will they just move on to whoever becomes the interim champion? That is still yet to be determined. But, we will crown a new Light Heavyweight Champion and a new Interim Heavyweight Champion on November 11th at Madison Square Garden in New York City at UFC 295.
