One of the world’s leading prospects, 22-year-old American Diego Pacheco (18-0, 15 KOs) headlines for the second time this FridayJuly 7 at the Cintermex in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico live on DAZN.

WBO #3 Pacheco will defend his WBO International and USWBC titles against Mexico’s world-ranked puncher Manuel Gallegos (19-1-1, 16 KOs) after penning a new multi-fight deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing in May.

Pacheco had a very successful 2022 with four outings, capturing and defending the WBC US Super Middleweight title and earning multiple world rankings.

The Californian had a blessing in disguise as he was offered the headline spot on a Liverpool card earlier this year. He took the opportunity with both hands, demolishing Jack Cullen inside a few rounds and making a significant statement in his first headliner.

26-year-old Gallegos, like Cullen, matches the tall frame of Pacheco at 6ft3 and will look to upset the highly-rated Matchroom hope.

The Mexican’s only defeat came to Oziel Santoyo in 2020. Although there isn’t a notable fight on his resume, Gallegos has gone through the domestic 168-pound scene in Mexico and emerged as the #3, falling behind P4P star Canelo Alvarez and Jaime Munguia.

Pacheco vs Gallegos Undercard

Matchroom’s latest signing, Super-Featherweight WBC #1 Rocky Hernandez (33-1, 30 KOs) takes on unbeaten Venezuelan Joniker Tovar (21-0-1, 16 KOs) over ten rounds. Hernandez is the mandatory challenger for O’Shaquie Foster and will warm up in Mexico until the fight is officially ordered.

Jonathan Rodriguez (24-2) takes on Israel Gonzalez (28-5-1) over ten rounds at Super Flyweight. Gonzalez has shared the ring with multiple world champions at both 112 and 115 and has consistently given a solid account of himself. Rodriguez is working towards a second title chance since his 2021 loss to Jerwin Ancajas and a win over Gonzalez would go a long way in earning another championship opportunity.

The undefeated 22-year-old Neidar Aguilar (8-0, 7 KOs) takes on Isaias Ortiz (5-3, 3 KOs) over eight rounds at Light-flyweight. And in the card opener, Diego Pacheco’s brother, Federico Pacheco Jr (3-0, 2 KOs) has his fourth outing against Oscar Arias (2-2, 1 KO) at Heavyweight in a contest scheduled for four rounds.
