Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will meet again. But, it’ll be inside of a boxing ring this time, instead of the cage. These two former rivals will settle the score inside the squares circle come March, sources say.
Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal Reported For March
Happy Punch was first to break the news that this upcoming March in Las Vegas, Nevada, Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal will go down inside of a boxing right. Both fighters have agreed and the UFC has given the green light for both men to put on the gloves and go to war once again. Though both fighters are currently not in the UFC, and Masvidal has retired fully from the sport of MMA, he’s still under a deal where UFC has to approve of his bouts outside of the company. As for this one, everything is set to go ahead.
These two former rivals fought back in 2019 at UFC 244 in the main event for the inaugural UFC BMF Championship, signifying the “baddest motherf-cker” in the UFC. Jorge Masvidal did get the win that night, earning a third round TKO after a referee stoppage. Nate Diaz was cut above the eye, and the cut was too bad for the bout to continue, therefore earning Jorge his first championship inside of the company. The BMF Championship is now currently held by Justin Gaethje after Masvidal retired, but he’s not fully out of the fight game.
Nate Diaz made his boxing debut on August 5, 2023 against Jake Paul. The bout did go the distance, but Paul did pick up the win. Masvidal did win his boxing debut back in 2005 before continuing his journey as a MMA fighter. Now, he will be boxing on a big stage, looking to make a statement over the fan favorite Nate Diaz. Jorge Masvidal has previously been rumored as a potential opponent for Jake Paul, or even KSI. But, it looks like Nate Diaz is the one to throw on the gloves. No official date has been revealed just yet, but March 2024 in Las Vegas, the bout is reportedly going down.
