Misfits 005 Results: March 4, 2023
Misfits 005 went down from Telford’s sold-out Telford International Centre. The first Tag Team Boxing bout, two championship bouts, and the hometown boy Jay Swingler headlined the event.
Jay Swingler took on NichLmao in the main event of Misfits 005. In the first round, both men were out fast. Swingler landed a nice right hand and forced Nich to rush in and throw punches in bunches. Jay stuck back and forced Nich to push for the rest of the first.
Into the second round, Nich seemingly started to frustrate Jay and force him to start pushing forward while Nich continued to throw big overhand rights and tried to split through the guard. Nich started to catch Jay a bit and suddenly, the underdog had the hometown boy on the back foot looking surprised.
As we go into round three, it was much of the same as round two. A lot of people including Jay underestimated NichLmao. Jay started to cut off the ring and push Nich back. Suddenly, both men started throwing bombs back and forth to end the round.
In the fourth and final round, Nich started to gas out very early and started to leave his hands down with his mouth wide open. Jay was still keeping the pace slow up until there were 15 seconds left, Nich went for it. No clean shots were landed but it had to look good in the judges’ eyes.
In the end of the Misfits 005 main event, the judges scored the fight 39-36 Swingler, 38-38, and 39-37 Swingler
