Lou DiBella Reveals Plan for Elite Heavyweight Prospect Jalolov
Lou DiBella expects Bakhodir Jalolov to turn his attention to the professional ranks.
Lou DiBella has revealed that elite amateur star Bakhodir Jalolov will now commit his full focus to the professional ranks. The promoter stated last week that Jalolov, nicknamed “The Big Uzbek”, would compete in the world championships in his homeland of Uzbekistan, explaining that the tournament is “tremendously important to his country.” Jalolov has since won gold at the IBA tournament, and will now be “fully committed to pursuing his goal of becoming the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World”.
Jalolov took gold in Tashkent as well as a $200,000 prize, beating Olympic bronze medalist, and two-time world championship silver medalist Kamshybek Kumkabayev of Kazakhstan in the quarter-final as well as Cuban star Fernando Arzola in the final. Bakhodir Jalovov had previously lost to Kumkabayev, however, has beaten him multiple times throughout his career. Taking the super heavyweight gold medal.
The 6’7 Uzbek southpaw danger man is currently 12-0 (12 knockouts) as a pro and has had an outstanding amateur career, picking up 3 Asian Championship Golds, 2 World Championship Golds, and an Olympic Gold in Tokyo. His last pro outing was in November last year, in which he picked up a 4th round knockout win over Curtis Harper in Carson, California.
Bakhodir Jalolov has been in the ring with many experienced men throughout his career, facing the likes of Richard Torres Jnr, Frazer Clarke, Joe Joyce, and Kamil Sokolowski across the unpaid and paid ranks.
Lou DiBella has many links across the US, having previously worked with DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime, so it remains to be seen where Gold Medalist Jalolov will land.
