Latest Updates: Joshua vs Whyte 2 Undercard, Joe Cordina Next Fight, Dmitry Bivol And MORE

Eddie Hearn has revealed the latest updates for some of his fighters/cards in Friday’s interview with iFL’s Colm McGuigan. Full Interview

Joshua vs Whyte 2 Undercard

Fillip Hrgovic and Demsey McKean could clash for the IBF Interim Heavyweight title on the Anthony Joshua-Dillian Whyte 2 undercard. The fight is agreed upon but not 100% decided whether it will be on the Joshua-Whyte card.

NoSmokeSport has learnt that Heavyweight Johnny Fisher will also return to the ring on the card.

Undercard details for the fight will be unveiled at Monday’s launch press conference in London.

Joe Cordina Next Fight

Hearn has revealed that the IBF world Super Featherweight champion Joe Cordina will return to the ring on September 30 at the Cardiff International Arena, live on DAZN.

A unification fights looks unlikely and there isn’t a mandatory challenger, so it will be a voluntary defence for Cordina.

Both Anthony Cacace and Zelfa Barrett were mentioned as potential opponents and with Barrett also being represented by Matchroom, he is likely the front-runner for Cordina’s next fight.

Dmitry Bivol

Dmitry Bivol is still searching for an opponent to defend his WBA Light Heavyweight title against. NoSmokeSport.com understands that one possibility is that Bivol headlines a card in Chicago, USA in September with the number one and number two female 147-pounders, Sandy Ryan and Jessica McCaskill meeting on the undercard.

British, Commonwealth and European light heavyweight champion, Dan Azeez turned down an offer to challenge for Bivol’s world title, per Hearn. Azeez will instead fight Joshua Buatsi in a final eliminator for Bivol’s title – as was reported by NoSmokeSport last month.

Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington

A deal to make Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington for October, likely at the Sheffield Arena, is ‘very close’ to being finalised.
