Joshua Buatsi Signs With Ben Shalom’s BOXXER In Multi-Year Deal, Next Fight Confirmed For May 6

London, UK – (March 15, 2023) – The incredible Great British world title prospect Joshua Buatsi (16-0, 13 KOs) has a new home: BOXXER.

The undefeated light-heavyweight contender was today unveiled as the latest star-name addition to the BOXXER and Sky Sports stable at a press conference in his hometown of Croydon, London.

The former British light-heavyweight champion, who celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday, has signed an exclusive multi-fight, multi-year agreement with BOXXER which will see his forthcoming world title quest air live and exclusively in the UK on the nation’s biggest sports broadcast platform.

His first fight under the BOXXER banner will be live and exclusive on Sky Sports, in the UK & Republic of Ireland, on May 6 at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham.

A bronze medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, Buatsi joins a roster packed with fellow Olympians, including Lauren Price, Ben Whittaker, Frazer Clarke, Natasha Jonas, Karriss Artingstall and Caroline Dubois.

With sixteen professional wins and a two-year stint as WBA International light-heavyweight champion to his credit, Buatsi is now set on winning major world titles in one of boxing’s most competitive weight divisions.

BOXXER CEO & Founder, Ben Shalom said: “We’re incredibly proud and excited to welcome Joshua Buatsi to the BOXXER stable. He is an exemplary role model and one of the most talented fighters we have in this country.

“Buatsi wants the biggest fights possible in front of the largest possible audience to achieve his unlimited potential.  He feels he wants to make up for lost time and we’re looking forward to sharing this journey with him, as he sets out to bring major nights and titles to Britain.”

Joshua Buatsi said: “I want to get the biggest fights on the biggest, most accessible platform for sports fans, so that’s why I’ve signed with BOXXER and Sky Sports.”

News of Buatsi’s first fight under the BOXXER banner will be announced in the near future. His last outing – a clash with Craig Richards in May last year – was widely considered one of British boxing’s fights of the year for 2022.

Prior to commencing his professional career, Buatsi graduated with a 2:1 degree in Management with Sports Science from St Mary’s University, Twickenham, studying alongside an amateur boxing career which saw him net two English national championships in addition to his Olympic bronze.
