Janibek Alimkhanuly WELCOMES fight with Benavidez & Other Possible Opponents
In a recent tweet by IBF and WBO middleweight champion, Janibek Alimkhanuly, the potential for a super-middleweight bout against David Benavidez was teased.
Janibek, now 15-0, is set to defend his belts against Andrei Mikhailovich, in Las Vegas next month.
Carlos Adames & Hamzah Sheeraz
Should he win, there are an array of fights to be made for the Kazakh fighter, with Bob Arum pointing at Carlos Adames for a unification bout, or a defence against the UK’s Hamzah Sheeraz.
David Benavidez
In a tweet, Janibek wrote:
David ‘The Mexican Monster’ Benavidez, is currently set to face Oleksandr Gvozdyk in tonight’s double-header, with Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin sharing the top of the bill. The fight can be viewed on Amazon Prime PPV in the US and UK.
Janibek Alimkhanuly was seen to drop some rounds against Britain’s Denzel Bentley in their title clash – how then would the former 2016 Olympian fare against Benavidez?
Canelo Alvarez
In another tweet, on June 6th, Janibek stated that he also intends to fight Canelo, who many say has been avoiding a clash with Benavidez.
Chris Eubank Jr.
Another name commonly mentioned is that of Chris Eubank Jr, who after defeating Liam Smith will aim to fight for a world title, perhaps against Janibek Alimkhanuly.
