Heaney vs Flatley 2 Tops ‘Fight Night Live’ From A Near-Sellout Telford
Stoke hero Nathan Heaney (16-0, 6 KOs) and Bolton man Jack Flatley (20-3-1, 4) will rematch for the vacant WBA Continental middleweight title in the featured attraction of a Frank Warren/Queensberry Promotions event at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire, England this Saturday March 25, live on BT Sport.
Heaney and Flatley shared five rounds of action in Manchester back in September before a head clash that left Heaney with a severe cut above his right eye. On the advice of the doctor, the contest was stopped and they went to the scorecards with Heaney upon all three cards, wining a technical decision.
Despite Heaney securing a win, there was a feeling of ‘unfinished business’ around the fight and the pair have chosen to reignite the rivalry in Heaney’s hometown, except this time it is the main event and there is a title at stake meaning even more on the line.
A 12-fight card which features Andrew Cain vs Ionut Baluta, Jason Cunningham, Raven Chapman and more is scheduled to begin at 5 pm GMT (1 pm ET, 10 am PT), the preliminary bouts will not be streamed. The televised action commences at 7:45 pm GMT (3:45 pm ET, 12:45 pm PT) live on BT Sport 1.
Main Event Ring Walks will take place at approximately 10:30 pm GMT (6 pm ET, 3 pm PT). Stay tuned to NoSmokeSport for more details about the undercard, running order, and fight week updates as they happen. Tickets for the event, starting at £55, are still available.
