It has recently been reported that Gervonta Davis was detained in Baltimore on Thursday, transitioning from house arrest to jail for the remainder of his three-month sentence related to a 2020 hit-and-run accident. This development was confirmed by Sheriff Sam Cogen and Davis’ attorney, Michael Tomko, despite the absence of online court records indicating a hearing or sentence violation. Gervonta Davis who is widely considered a top pound-for-pound contender with an unbeaten record, was originally sentenced to home confinement at his trainer Calvin Ford’s residence. Additional stipulations included 200 hours of community service and participation in a program at the University of Maryland and a Mothers Against Drunk Driving panel.
