Ryan Garcia returns at 143 pounds against Mexican puncher Oscar Duarte this Saturday, December 2 in Houston, Texas Live on DAZN.
This is Garcia’s first bout since his stoppage defeat to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in April at 136 pounds – a fight which drew 1.2m PPV buys in the United States.
Garcia doesn’t come back to an easy fight though. Duarte, who has 21 KOs in 26 fights, has only been beaten once in his decade-long career.
A win for Garcia could set up a WBA world title shot later in 2024 as Ohara Davies and Ismael Barroso are set to meet early next year for the Interim world title with the winner set to fight for the full title or be elevated to champion status. Davies and Garcia are both represented by Golden Boy.
